Alexander Rinke, Bastian Nominacher, and Martin Klenk win German President Award 2019
Founders of Celonis convince the jury with their Process Mining technology
Celonis, the market leader in AI-based process mining and process excellence software, once again proves its innovative strength. On November 27, the founders of Celonis were awarded the German President Award 2019 in Berlin. The jury praised the commitment and innovative spirit of the two co-founders and co-CEOs Alexander Rinke and Bastian Nominacher as well as co-founder and CTO Martin Klenk. The award is presented annually by the Federal President and pays tribute to new technologies and innovations that shape the future significantly. It’s the first time in the award’s history that a company has been nominated and honored in the category “software and algorithm-based innovation.”
“The German President's Award honors forward-looking innovation in Germany and, for us founders and the entire Celonis team, it’s a great acknowledgment of the hard work during the past eight years,” says Celonis’ Co-CEO Alexander Rinke. “At the same time, it’s gratifying proof that the general public also recognizes the potential of our process mining technology to shape the future. Process Mining goes far beyond the mere improvement of processes in organizations, it significantly changes our everyday lives.”
For example, Process Mining helps Lufthansa airlines depart on time, hospitals treat patients more quickly, and companies identify sustainable suppliers. The technology enables smooth everyday consumer experiences while helping companies keep pace with today's market demands and make sustainable decisions.
The German President Award has been awarded for more than 20 years, honoring people who make contributions to the future, by thinking, inventing, and developing their ideas in unique ways, and those who are successful in transforming those ideas into reality. The prize is awarded by the federal president, and the jury consists of independent experts from science and practice. After a multistage selection process, three teams are nominated every year. Alongside other aspects, nominees are judged on the scientific and technical level of innovation of the technology as well as market maturity and the range of its applications. Other decisive aspects are the solution’s potential to generate new jobs and its contribution to sustainable value creation for companies.
