Celonis and PwC Extend Strategic Partnership to Enable Business Transformation with Process Intelligence

NEW YORK AND MUNICH, October 16, 2024 - Celonis, the global leader in Process Mining and Process Intelligence, and accounting and consulting firm PwC, today announced the extension of their strategic partnership. First announced in 2020, and expanded in 2021 when PwC became a global platinum partner, the collaboration brings together PwC’s deep domain knowledge with Celonis’ ability to innovate and turn Process Intelligence into business value.

“We are excited to embark on the next phase of our partnership with PwC,” said Malhar Kamdar, Chief Customer Officer and Head of Ecosystems at Celonis. “Together, we continue to deliver solutions that help companies leverage emerging technologies (like AI), meet growing customer expectations and adapt to evolving regulation. Leveraging Celonis Process Intelligence and PwC’s advisory expertise, customers can transform business operations, increasing sustainability and delivering tremendous value.”

Celonis and PwC: Enabling business transformation with Process Intelligence

According to the 2024 PwC Pulse Survey, 82% of US CEOs say companies in the US will not survive if they fail to change. The Celonis Process Optimization Report found that 83% of the more than 1,200 enterprise leaders surveyed said processes are their greatest lever for value and fastest lever for change. Using the Celonis Process Intelligence Graph, companies can analyze, improve, and monitor their processes, so they understand how they run and how to make them run better.

“Celonis is a key enabling technology for PwC as we work with clients to radically transform how they create, deliver and capture value,” said Christian Bartmann, Co-Head Center of Excellence for Process Intelligence at PwC. “Just as Celonis is pushing beyond traditional process mining with its Process Intelligence Platform, PwC is pushing beyond conventional consulting with our Business Model Reinvention Framework. This new approach to business transformation uses human-led, tech-powered capabilities to help clients rethink and reinvent their business model.“

The power of the Celonis and PwC partnership is demonstrated by multiple client success stories:

Supply Chain: PwC and Celonis developed a supply chain solution for a Germany-based manufacturer that let the client visualize material flows at each stage of the production cycle and identify actionable opportunities for improvement. By reducing the unnecessary movement of goods and reorganizing its plants and warehouses, the client could reduce costs by more than €1M per year and carbon dioxide transport emissions by nearly 1,000 tons.

Finance: PwC used Celonis to identify trapped value for a large medical device manufacturer and accelerate value realization in their Order-to-Cash process. They identified over $94M in total value across different process areas, including $37M in free cash flow by reducing blocked orders, $10M from late deliveries causing delayed invoices, and $5M in early deliveries to vendors.

Compliance: Working with an American utility holding company, PwC used Celonis to unlock the value hidden in the client’s Procure-to-Pay process. Specifically, they identified 2,500 hours of manual activity for internal audit that could be eliminated through automation, totaling in excess of $2M in savings.

Process Excellence: Leveraging Celonis, PwC was able to identify significant improvement opportunities for a large US mortgage lender in the process used to order payoff statements from external creditors. The lender could save up to 92,000 hours of team member time through automation and remove 21 days of cycle time per loan by reducing reorders.
