Celonis Expands into Italy with New Milan Office and Appointment of Ezio Russo as Country Manager
Pivotal opportunity for Italian companies to accelerate their digital transformation
March 03, 2021 – (Milan, Italy) – Celonis, the global leader in Execution Management Systems (EMS), today announced the opening of its first office in Italy and the addition of Ezio Russo as Country Manager to support its rapid expansion. Russo joins from Salesforce Italy, where he was the Area Vice President and Head of the Commercial Business Unit for Italy and played an instrumental role in driving growth over the past decade. Russo aims to replicate fast-track growth at Celonis, which already has seen Italy become one of its fastest growing countries in Europe. The new office in Milan, Italy’s business hub, is a key component in Celonis’ rapid global expansion plans, with recruitment underway for 50 new employees across a range of technical and commercial roles. Ezio Russo, Vice President and Country Manager for Italy, comments: “Celonis’ new Italian office is enabling us to be even closer to our local customer base and to accelerate sales. In addition to our focus on existing Italian customers, we have identified Italy as an important growth market. Italy is the third-largest economy in the European Union, the eighth largest by nominal GDP in the world, and the tenth-largest exporter in the world. Leading Italian companies are investing heavily in digitization but are struggling with business execution along the way. Celonis can help them run at maximum capacity and get full value from their digital investments.”
Campari removes execution barriers
Among a raft of Italian household names already counting on Celonis for end-to-end optimization of its processes is globally renowned drinks firm Campari, the world’s sixth-largest premium spirits group. Campari chose to implement Celonis EMS to integrate new acquisitions faster and more effectively, and fully harvest the benefits of increased scale. It uses the Celonis EMS to standardize internal audit processes globally and identify non-standard processes creating execution barriers in all its component business. This includes newly acquired firms before allowing their integration into the company’s central SAP system. Antonio Zuchetti, Head of Internal Audit at Campari Group, says: “We call Celonis a ‘digital blanket’ as it covers all our systems and highlights exactly where to focus, to eliminate execution barriers and maximize execution capacity. With this holistic view, we can make optimal decisions. Now our subsidiary companies can determine investment priorities, knowing they are acting on facts rather than hunches. Everyone should have the Celonis icon on their desktop.” The Celonis EMS is an intelligent execution system that runs on top of the world’s largest transactional systems including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. By applying process intelligence to real-time data from those systems, Celonis can help Italian companies to identify and unlock execution capacity, improve business performance and accelerate digital transformation. In Italy, Celonis is focusing on vertical markets where the EMS has a proven track record in delivering substantial improvements to the customer’s bottom line – beginning with Telecommunications & Media, Energy & Utilities, Financial Services & Insurance, Manufacturing & Automotive, to be followed by Retail & CPG, Transport & Travel.
