Harting Technology Group relies on Celonis for its digitization strategy

AI-supported technology enables optimization of invoicing and procurement

Celonis, the market leader in AI-based Process Mining and Process Excellence software, has been selected by the Harting Technology Group, the global market leader in the field of electronic connectivity, to play an important role in Harting's digitization strategy by analyzing and improving its invoicing and procurement processes.

By deploying the Celonis Intelligent Business Cloud (IBC), Harting aims to optimize working capital, reduce manual intervention, shorten processing times and improve service to customers. An earlier pilot project with Celonis in purchasing and finance identified the potential for decisive improvements in the Purchase-to-Pay and Accounts Payable processes.

"We are very pleased to support the Harting Technology Group as the global market leader in its field with our market-leading solutions and to help drive forward its digitization strategy," says Bastian Nominacher, co-founder and co-CEO at Celonis. "Celonis' software prepares data in such a way that any friction in internal processes becomes immediately transparent. Powerful algorithms continuously and automatically detect deviations from the intended, optimal process flow and recommend solutions to achieve optimum process performance."

Leveraging Process Mining for optimal RPA

The Harting Technology Group has been intensively driving forward its digital transformation for more than three years, focusing on innovative technologies, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Celonis is making an important contribution here too, providing the comprehensive understanding of processes essential for successful automation. Celonis shows how RPA can be most effectively deployed in the company. It enables the complete understanding of business processes necessary to improve them and then standardize on the optimum flow.

"The most important criteria we looked at when selecting Celonis were its continuous data updates, the intuitive user interface and the ease of implementation during the Proof of Value project (PoV)", explains Jörg Hochbaum, General Manager Finance at Harting Technology. "Another major advantage was the viable commitment of time and personnel during the pilot project, when we demonstrated that the team was able to handle this task inaddition to its usual duties."

Harting was also convinced by the potential of Celonis to combat challenges posed by Covid-19. For example, it is now possible to identify any problems in the supply chain in time to circumvent them and steer safely through the crisis. "The most important goal of our digitization strategy is to get even closer to our customers and remain a leader in the market. We believe that we are well prepared for this by using innovative technologies, such as Celonis," concludes Hochbaum.
